International House of Prayer

The IHOP Missions Base is an international missions organization in Kansas City committed to Prayer (intercession, worship, healing, prophesying, etc.), Fasting (covering 365 days a year) the Great Commission (proclaiming Jesus to all nations) and the Forerunner Ministry (preparing the Bride for the End-times). Our work includes equipping and sending missionaries as dedicated intercessors and evangelists working to see revival in the Church and a Great Harvest among the lost.
The Holy Spirit is orchestrating a global prayer strategy far eclipsing any other prayer movement in history, resulting in a unprecedented harvest of souls and completing the Great Commission. Historically, the prayer side of the Great Commission has been neglected. Throughout the earth, it will become common to hear of "intercessory worship" ministries that continue non-stop 24 hours a day in the worshipping spirit of the Tabernacle of David.
In the Old Testament, King David organized 4,000 musicians and 288 singers to minister to God before the Ark of the Covenant in shifts that continued 24 hours a day. He financially released them to worship God as their full-time occupation. We are focused on understanding the heavenly model of worship as seen in the book of Revelation, where the 24 heavenly elders came to Jesus with two things: a "harp and a bowl" (Rev. 5:8). The harp speaks of God's music and worship songs; the bowl speaks of intercession. Worship (harp) relates to the First Commandment to love the Lord with all our hearts. Intercession (bowl) speaks of the Second Commandment to love our neighbor as we labor for their salvation, deliverance and blessing through night and day prayer with fasting. The "Harp and Bowl" model of intercessory worship combines the two Great Commandments (which flow together to complete the Great Commission).
IHOP MISSIONS BASE MISSION STATEMENT: The IHOP Missions base is founded to call forth, train and mobilize intercessors (worshippers) and evangelists who operate in the forerunner spirit; to establish a 24 hour a day House of Prayer in Kansas City with those who fast and pray in the worshipping spirit of the Tabernacle of David and to send out teams to plant Houses of Prayer in the cities of the earth.

"Take a scroll and write on it these things" vision of soG

Signature of God was birthed out of the place of prayer. I have been on staff at the International House of Prayer for ten years and in that time I have been involved with the night watch. It was here that the Lord drew out of me something that I didn't even know existed. I was singing on teams and praying through the night, simply loving Jesus, sitting at His feet and pouring on Him my worship and my love. It was while singing one night that my friend Cheryl began asking the Lord about me, inquiring about who I am and asking Him what was on His heart for me. When we arrived home that morning, she began telling me what she believed the Lord was saying. In her enthusiasm, she downloaded the possibility of me taking excerpts from my journals and putting them into card formats as well as pictures which could be framed. After hearing this, I went before the Lord and in the midst of contemplating and praying through this possibility, I felt that the Lord confirmed to me His heart in the matter. This is the story of Signature of God, which I would like to share with you.
I began asking the Lord for His heart in this area, because I really needed confirmation from Him if indeed I was going to step out and display the secret places from my journals to others. The Lord led me to this verse in Jeremiah 36, verse 2: "Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you concerning Israel, concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day." I knew immediately that what the Lord was calling me to was a very focused message. He was telling me to take a scroll and write on it His heart concerning His people -- how He feels about US! There is nothing that He is more zealous about than to tell us how He feels about us. One of the greatest oppositions and accusations of the human heart is not believing that God is good and that He loves and never changes. In this hour in which we live it vital for us as His people to understand and be confident that His heart of affection for us is not determined by how we feel, or by what we've done and have not done. His love is not conditional to our circumstances and even in our weakness He says that we are lovely. We love and serve a God who is forever the same and His love is unwavering. As I read the scripture I began to understand what it was He was asking of me, "Tell others how I feel about them concerning My jealousy, My passion, and My burning desire. Write about the truth that it is My people in whom I take delight everyday, all the time, and that I never change. WRITE!"
As I grew in confidence that the Lord was really in this idea of adapting my journal entries and that He was initiating it, I began asking Him what I should call this new endeavor. As I was speaking to my mother concerning Jeremiah 36:2, the Lord actually told me the name which I should use for this newly found ministry. I heard Him say, "Signature of God," while speaking to my mom, but I continued in conversation with her without commenting on it. In less than five minutes, she interrupted me and said, "Sommer, I know the name. The name is 'Signature of God.'" This proved to be another confirmation as I told her that the Lord just spoke that to me. Signature of God was actually originally spoken over me five years earlier while a young lady was delivering a prophetic word to me, and said, "He calls you Signature of God, Your name is Signature of God." She proceeded to describe this very ministry, but five years ago I was clueless as to what all of this meant. I simply put aside the word at that time and forgot about it, and now five years later the Lord is bringing it to the forefront in my life.
Even after all of that unfolded, I was still feeling a need for more confirmation from the Lord and in His affirming nature He led me to Haggai 2:23: "In that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will take you Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel, says the Lord, and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you, says the Lord of hosts."
This was the confirmation that I needed from His mouth to my heart to give me that extra little boost to take hold and run with it. He was saying to me that He was making me His Signature. We as believers in the man Jesus Christ of Nazareth carry His name and we are His Signature on the face of the earth. We are also His stamp of approval, just as a king would wear a signet ring and this was his seal of approval, of authority, of agreement. The King's name carries weight; we are His signature. I love it when He speaks about Israel in Ezekiel 16:13, "You were exceeding beautiful, and succeeded to royalty." When we become His, we take on His royal name and we are His bride who will partner and rule and reign with Him on His throne. Amazing!
I believe in this hour -- in the hour of the last days -- that God is most zealous about expressing His heart of love, kindness, graciousness and mercy to those He chose from the beginning to be His people, Israel. I feel a major role for the ministry of Signature of God is that of writing on a scroll about His heart of affection over His people, the descendants of Abraham. As I write, this is the overflow of my heart in prayer concerning those He loves. Secondly, I am praying the Bride, the Church, the Gentiles -- the bride as one heart -- that she would feel and experience the heart of God over her, rooted and grounded in love and firmly established in His affection over her. My prayer is that in the hour of testing she will not become offended and bitter towards the God who is always gracious, slow to anger and rich in love always! And thirdly, I'm praying for my very own heart. Oh, how I long to have a heart truly flowing in love, confident before Him in love, knowing without exception of His heart of love for me, certain that neither circumstances nor my behavior determine His heart of love over me.
Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Matthew 9:14 "But go and learn what this means; I desire Mercy and not sacrifice." My friend, He desires Mercy; He rejoices over you with singing and He will be quiet in His love over YOU. In Song of Solomon 4:9, the bridegroom's response to the one He loves is, "You have ravished my heart, My sister, My spouse; You have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes, with one link of you necklace." With one glance from your eyes He is undone. In fact it's like He's saying, "Look away from me for my heart is undone." My friend, if we could simply taste of His pleasure over us we would be a changed people, for we would find that our truest pleasure is found in the ONE who takes the greatest of pleasure in us. We would approach His throne with boldness having have no fear. Oh, that we would be confident in His love!
